At Cherrybank Dental Spa in Edinburgh, we’ve built a reputation for luxurious, pain free dentistry that goes above and beyond the ordinary. If you’re exploring cosmetic treatments, braces, or dental implants — or if you’ve had a bad experience in the past — this FAQ page is here to guide and reassure you with honest answers and real support.
Dental Implants
1. What are dental implants and how can they restore my smile?
Dental implants are small titanium or ceramic posts placed into the jaw to act as strong foundations for crowns, bridges, or dentures. Whether you’re missing one tooth or need a full smile makeover, implants can transform your appearance, restore function, and bring back your confidence. They are the closest option to look, feel, and perform like natural teeth, and are tailored to your needs for appearance and function.
2. Can I really get a new smile in just one day?
Yes! With our Same Day Smile solution, you can walk in with missing or failing teeth and walk out with a functioning, beautiful new smile, all in one day. This advanced technique uses a small number of implants to support a full arch of teeth, offering immediate results with minimal disruption.
3. What if I’ve been told I don’t have enough bone for implants?
You still have options. Our implant dentists regularly help patients who have been told they’re “not suitable” for implants. Using advanced techniques like bone grafting, we can successfully treat complex cases and deliver long-term results. Even if you have been told you are not suitable before.
4. How does laser technology improve the implant process?
Our use of Gentle Dental Laser technology makes your implant procedure smoother, more precise, and along with our digital numbing systems, pain-free whilst in the chair. Lasers help reduce bleeding and swelling, speed up tissue healing, and improve comfort, so you can get back to smiling with minimal downtime.
5. How long do implants last and what are the success rates?
Dental implants are one of the most successful treatments in modern dentistry, with a high success rate. With proper care and hygiene, they can last decades with many lasting a lifetime when properly cared for.
High Speed Braces™
1. What’s included in my High Speed Braces™ treatment?
Your journey starts with a comprehensive dental assessment by one of our experienced dentists. We check your overall dental health, including your gums, bite, bone levels, and teeth — with X-rays and a full-mouth examination to ensure treatment is safe and successful. From consultation to retainers, every stage of your treatment is planned out clearly, with no hidden costs or surprises.
2. Will High Speed Braces™ be visible when I smile?
High Speed Braces™ are designed to be discreet and tooth-coloured, so they blend naturally with your smile. If you’re worried about how they’ll look, don’t be, we have photos and videos of real patients so you can see just how subtle they are in everyday life.
3. How long will my treatment take — and will it be monitored closely?
Most patients complete their treatment in 3 to 9 months, but your plan will be fully tailored to your smile goals and oral health. Our dentists are with you every step of the way, they’ll monitor progress regularly and make adjustments as needed to ensure even stubborn teeth move exactly as planned.
4. Will my teeth move back after treatment?
Not on our watch. We include two types of retainers to keep your new smile in place: a clear removable retainer to wear at night, and a fixed retainer placed behind your teeth for extra security. Even if you forget to wear one, the other keeps working, so your results are protected long-term.
5. Are there alternatives to fixed braces that are more discreet?
Yes. If the idea of metal braces has put you off straightening your teeth, you’ll be glad to know we offer modern, nearly invisible options like Invisalign® and 32co Aligners. These clear aligners gently guide your teeth into place without drawing attention, so most people won’t even know you’re wearing them.
Pain Free Dentistry
1. I’m terrified of the dentist. Can you really help someone like me?
Yes, and you’re not alone. Many of our patients once felt the same. Our practice is built around the belief that you don’t need to be brave to visit the dentist. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into a calm, caring environment where your comfort is our top priority. Our team takes the time to understand your fears, listens without judgement, and creates a personalised experience that puts you at ease.
2. Is it really pain free? What if I’ve had bad experiences before?
We completely understand past experiences can leave lasting fear. That’s why pain free dentistry isn’t just a promise, it’s our standard. Whether you’re having a simple check-up or a more complex treatment like implants or braces, we use the latest techniques, technology, and a gentle touch to ensure you feel little to no discomfort. We’re so confident, we even offer a money-back guarantee if you feel pain.
3. What options do you have for sedation or anxiety management?
For those who need extra support, we offer intravenous sedation. You’ll feel calm, relaxed, and barely aware of treatment taking place, yet still able to communicate with your dentist. It’s a safe, controlled process overseen by trained professionals, and it’s especially helpful for longer appointments or more complex procedures like implants or extractions.
4. What steps do you take to make nervous patients feel more comfortable?
From your very first consultation, we take every step to create a stress-free, worry-free experience. You’ll never be rushed. Every question is answered. Every procedure is explained. We even offer gentle dental lasers, advanced numbing techniques, and a friendly team that genuinely cares.
5. Can I have cosmetic treatments even if I have dental anxiety?
Absolutely. We provide pain free cosmetic treatments including dental implants, smile makeovers, braces, veneers, and more, all with nervous patients in mind. Our approach is designed to help you feel calm and in control at every stage, whether it’s a minor adjustment or a full smile transformation. It’s never too late to take that first step towards the smile you’ve always wanted, without fear, and without pain.
